Gold! Mother Lode residents have been striking it rich for generations. August 23rd and 24th the fairground gates swing open for another Gold & Outdoor Festival. Attendees will pan, sluice and detect their way to a weekend of fun and adventure. Our fairgrounds lay on the bank of Woods Creek where our community made 49er history. Robert Guardiola president of the Delta Gold Diggers displayed the giving back nature of the modern prospector. Trash collected by the association hobbyist group truly was a step up on the “Pack it in Pack it Out!” and then some! Walt Wegner 1st Vice President of Public Lands For The People, Inc. was on hand to support public access to our local natural resources. Family members of all ages gave a go at panning for Hurst Ranch booth gold. Oakdale Equine Rescue promoted the great work they do in caring for horses in need of a loving home. All in All a great community event in celebration of our natural resources.
